The society was founded by visionary leaders and advocates who recognized the urgent need for a structured support system to rehabilitate, empower, and reintegrate visually impaired individuals into society. Over the decades, FNSB has continued to evolve, leading the charge in vocational training, advocacy, public awareness, and blindness prevention efforts in Nigeria. For 7 decades, FNSB has been a leading organization in West Africa, providing reorientation, rehabilitation, and training for the visually impaired. It has championed human rights advocacy, education, and empowerment, earning recognition.
