Established in 1955, the Federal Nigeria Society for the Blind (FNSB) has been a beacon of hope for visually impaired individuals in Nigeria for 70 years. As a pioneering non-governmental, non-profit, and voluntary organization, FNSB is committed to breaking down the barriers that limit the potential of people living with visual impairment.
The society was founded by visionary leaders and advocates who recognized the urgent need for a structured support system to rehabilitate, empower, and reintegrate visually impaired individuals into society. Over the decades, FNSB has continued to evolve, leading the charge in vocational training, advocacy, public awareness, and blindness prevention efforts in Nigeria.
For seven decades, FNSB has been a leading organization in West Africa, providing reorientation, rehabilitation, and training for the visually impaired. It has championed human rights advocacy, education, and empowerment, earning recognition across the region.
